Selecting the Correct Streaming Technology

As a seller, you can specify the type of streaming technology that is used to deliver your audio and videos to your customers.

To manage these settings choose Profile (1) then click on the Account Profile (2) tab. Scroll down to the Seller Media Settings area where you'll find the Audio Streaming (3) drop down menu and the Video Streaming (4) drop down menu. Choose the settings that best apply to your content.

Basic HTTP Streaming

Basic HTTP Streaming is the default streaming media setting for all seller accounts. This is the most basic and straightforward method for streaming video and audio files to your customers' PCs and mobile devices, but lacks dynamic buffering and seek support.

Advanced HTTP Streaming

Advanced HTTP Streaming is an optional setting for all seller accounts. This is the most flexible and convenient method for streaming video and audio files to your customers' PCs and mobile devices. It includes full dynamic buffering and seek support. However, one drawback is if you upload an updated version of a media file to your account, it may take up to 15 minutes for the updated version of the file to appear in your customers' video and audio players.
